This level is ideal for experienced learners with an understanding and practical experience of specialist engineering technologies and principles. 

There are two qualifications available at Level 3 all of which are included in the Advanced Engineering Manufacture Apprenticeship framework. 

To gain a qualification you must complete a range of mandatory and optional units. These include:       

  • Engineering health and safety
  • Computer automated and robotic systems principle
  • Power supply, and analogue and digital circuit principles and fault.

2850-90 comprises of mandatory and optional courses. You are expected to do the three mandatory courses and a minimum of any three of your choice from the optional courses.

To qualify for this certificate, it requires student to achieve 27 credits from the mandatory course and 27 credits from the optional courses making a total of 54 credits for the three courses at this level.

Professional recognition

The 2850-90 programme is accredited by City & Guilds of London Programme to meet the practical academic requirements in Engineering.

Entry requirement(s)

  • Read/write literacy
  • Pass mark in assessment test (organized by AETI)
  • 2 passport photographs
  • A proof of engineering background. (OND or HND or its equivalent), plus work experience in engineering industry.
